The first "room" tackled (and still being tackled) was the foyer!
It originally was a very dark green (teal?) color and had a lovely border to match it. I unfortunately lost photos when my computer died, but found this one to give you an idea.
This is an in progress shot of me taking down the lovely border.
Next I went outside for a breather (scraping is hard work) and found a kitty friend! This is end of our sidewalk and beginning of driveway, probably about 6 feet from our house. I said hello to the kitty and it just trotted right into the house. I was too surprised to do anything so we ended up with this:
Here is goatee kitty sitting in the bathroom, owning the place. Also, there is more of the terrible weird green color that was in foyer.
Kyle came home and helped me scrape the rest of the border and we went back to the apartment and fell right asleep (typical 18 hour days and 6 hour sleeps).
The next day while Kyle worked (I took off for a week), I started priming the foyer.
Here is some more green hiding in progress with a peek at the Front room(we don't have a purpose for it yet) also not yet painted.
Several days later (since that's how house projects seem to be rolling around here), I got back up on my mini step stool and slapped some paint on the foyer. We went with Sherwin-Williams Krypton(hehe) but of course just color matched it to Behr!
And here is one shot of updated foyer!
We still have to: Sand and paint the trim (baseboards and door trims), hang some paintings on the wall on right (not pictured) and paint this same color (SW Krypton!) in a line up the stairwell (also on right, also not pictured) and possibly update the foyer light. We will of course also paint that hallway half bathroom(but are planning a mini reno for that room anyway!).
I apologize for lack of fun details but I am currently without my computer. Once Kyle gets a free moment, he'll fix my computer and then I'll be able to use my nice camera and nice computer to format things instead of posting phone pictures from my tablet!
I totally thought that first pic was an aerial shot of the OBX
ReplyDeletehaha, nope, just our previously ugly foyer!
ReplyDeleteMe too! It's like one of those mind teaser pics: do you see a rabbit or a duck? Depends on your context: Do you see a beach or a home repair project?
